June 9th, 2006 Orin Rutchick was named one of four 2006 Mcknight Photographic Fellowship recipients for his Push Button Memories Project Work and 2006/2007 Fellowship Plan.

From 131 eligible applications these four were chosen to receive the awards by a review panel consisting of: Katherine Bussard, assistant curator of photography, Art Institute of Chicago; Pedro Meyer, new media artist, photographer, and writer based in Mexico City; and William Wylie, photographer and assistant professor of art, University of Virginia, Charlottesville. The $25,000 fellowships, which are selected on the basis of perceived and promised excellence in photographic work, are given to mid-career Minnesota-resident artists who utilize photography as a primary tool in their art with the intent of supporting their creative output over the course of a year. Besides the financial award, the four fellows will be shown in a group exhibition at the Minnesota Center for Photography in late summer 2007 and will participate in public talks about their work in conjunction with the exhibition.
